TAWANI Property Management, the residential and commercial real estate arm of TAWANI Enterprises, Inc., announces that its Chief Operating Officer of Real Estate, Kimberlee Carr, was named a “Notable Real Estate Leader” by Crain’s Chicago Business. TAWANI Property Management oversees a diverse range of properties throughout Chicago, including single-family homes, condos, multi-family buildings, and commercial and retail space, with Carr leading operational decisions, teams, and strategies for the entire portfolio. Her expertise spans historic preservation efforts and the development of newly constructed commercial endeavors.

“I’m so honored to receive this recognition as a Notable Commercial Real Estate Leader from a well-respected publication like Crain’s Chicago Business,” says Carr. “TAWANI Property Management is a boutique firm with an incredible impact on the quality of residential and business life across the greater Chicago area, and I’m thrilled to play a part in shaping the city’s real estate landscape.”

One of TAWANI Property Management’s most notable commercial properties is the historic Monroe Building at 104 S Michigan Avenue. The building has been known as one of Chicago’s architectural gems for more than a century, and Carr ensures that it is meticulously maintained to retain its historic details while integrating modern amenities. On the new development side, Carr led the construction and launch of TAWANI Property Management’s Mission94 Firearms Education Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The state-of-the-art center aims to educate the public on the proper use of firearms and shares the unique history behind citizens’ Second Amendment rights.  The macro-environment for local office spaces and residential properties has gone through major shifts in the past few years, and Carr is at the forefront of these changes, creating new, innovative approaches to existing spaces, such as exploring opportunities for mixed-use spaces and unconventional tenants.

Carr has been with TAWANI Property Management for more than a decade, achieving increasing levels of responsibility before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Real Estate in 2023. She’s a lifelong real estate leader who worked at various Chicago firms before joining the team at TAWANI. Carr holds an Illinois Managing Broker’s License and is certified as both an Accredited Residential Manager (ARM®) and a Certified Property Manager (CPM®).

“I extend my congratulations to Kim for her well-deserved honor and express gratitude to Crain’s Chicago Business for spotlighting her distinguished career,” says Colonel (IL) Jennifer N. Pritzker, IL ARNG (Retired), founder of TAWANI Property Management. “Kim’s leadership, expertise, and positive energy have been pivotal to our success, and I know that many more great achievements are ahead for her.”
