November ushers in a season of gratitude, and there are meaningful opportunities right here in the Loop and nearby to give back: before work, on a lunch break, or after hours. As part of the Monroe Building community, here are simple ways to support our Chicago neighbors and local nonprofits.

Support a Local Food Pantry

Share Your Skills

  • Chicago Cares (Loop): browse projects, including virtual options: Find an opportunity

  • Ladder Up: tax assistance program (training provided): Volunteer
  • SCORE: mentor local entrepreneurs and small businesses: Volunteer with SCORE

Keep Downtown Beautiful

  • Chicago Parks Foundation: Organize or join a “Pitch In for the Parks” cleanup: Get started
  • Friends of the Chicago River: Riverwalk cleanups and habitat projects: Volunteer

Host a Mini Thanksgiving Drive at Work

Team up with colleagues to collect:
