Employee Spotlight: Meet Jose Bracero, Maintenance Technician

We are proud of our exceptional TAWANI Property Management (TPM) family. A few times a year, we will highlight our talented and helpful staff for residents to get to know the people who they frequently interact with.

This month’s Employee Spotlight is on Jose Bracero, Maintenance Technician. Read Jose’s interview to learn more about his role at TPM and how he enjoys spending his spare time.

  1. How long have you been working for TAWANI Property Management?

I’ve been working with TPM since January 4, 2022.

  1. What are your job responsibilities?

My responsibilities are to maintain, upkeep and repair anything that has to do with our rental properties and all our buildings.

  1. What do you love about your job?

I love being able to fix things and solve problems. I’ve always worked with my hands. There is a satisfaction with knowing how to take care of and maintain things yourself, instead of paying someone else to do it. I got that from my dad. My dad retired from two jobs, 25 years each. He was a woodworker.

  1. How do you feel about working for TPM?

I love the company. This is the first company that I have worked for that genuinely cares about its employees. I feel good about working for TPM. TAWANI has high expectations for everyone, but with respect and great benefits, how could anyone not answer the call to do their job with excellence?

I believe in three things: People need to know that you love, value and appreciate them. When you do those three things, people will do anything for you. That’s how I feel about the company.

  1. What do you want residents to know about you?

I do my job with excellence, and I take pride in what I do. I like to do things right, and I am here for all the residents. If I receive a call from them, residents will get timely responses and a job done to the best of my abilities. If I do not know something, I will reach out to someone who does.

  1. What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The best satisfaction is knowing that at the end of the day I did good quality work, and I did the best job that I could. When I go home, I feel good about myself because I did things with integrity.

  1. Are you from Chicago? If so, what do you love about Chicago?

I was born and raised in Chicago and then I moved to Alaska for 11 years before returning home. To be honest, the city itself is beautiful. I just love Chicago.

  1. Do you have any hobbies besides fixing things?

I’m an outdoor guy, so I like hunting, fishing, sports and biking.

Jose is happy to interact with residents so if you see him, be sure to say hi!
